Grade × Width (GT) - The Quick Comparison Metric
What it means: GT is calculated by multiplying the grade of an intercept by its width. It serves as a quick proxy for the total metal content in an intercept.
Formula: GT = Grade × Width
How analysts use it: GT allows rapid comparison across intercepts, drill holes, and even projects. It is the primary sorting and ranking metric used in the Minestarters platform and the Quality Badge Matrix.
Limitations: GT is a simplification. It does not account for deposit geometry, metallurgy, mining costs, or continuity between drill holes. It is a screening tool, not a valuation model.
