- Web3 & Blockchain Terms

AMM (Automated Market Maker)

A smart contract enabling token trading without a traditional order book. Uses algorithmic pricing based on liquidity pool ratios. Minestarters uses a permissioned AMM for vault token secondary trading.

ART (Asset-Referenced Token)

A synthetic token referencing pooled commodity asset value rather than direct equity. Enables pre-discovery liquidity without forcing project-level exits.

Blockchain

A distributed, immutable ledger recording transactions across a network. Minestarters uses blockchain for vault token issuance, NAV tracking, and settlement.

DABA (Digital Asset Business Act)

Bermuda’s regulatory framework for digital asset businesses. Minestarters Tech is licensed under DABA.

DeFi (Decentralised Finance)

Financial services built on blockchain operating without traditional intermediaries.

DEX (Decentralised Exchange)

A platform for trading tokens directly between users via smart contracts. Minestarters operates a permissioned DEX.

ERC-20

The most common Ethereum token standard. Vault tokens and $MINE are ERC-20 tokens.

Fiat

Government-issued currency (USD, EUR, GBP). Minestarters uses USDC with fiat on/off-ramping through the custodian.

Gas

The fee paid to process transactions on a blockchain network.

KYC/AML

Know Your Customer / Anti-Money Laundering. Regulatory processes verifying investor identity. Required for all Minestarters participants.

Liquidity Pool

Tokens locked in a smart contract providing trading liquidity. A portion of vault deposits is allocated to the AMM pool.

Mainnet

The live production blockchain network, as opposed to testnet.

Minting

Creating new tokens on-chain. Vault tokens are minted when a vault closes.

NAV (Net Asset Value)

Total value of assets in a vault, updated on-chain as milestones are achieved. NAV per token = total vault NAV ÷ total tokens.

On-chain / Off-chain

On-chain = recorded on blockchain (verifiable, immutable). Off-chain = outside blockchain (custodian operations, equity holdings, fiat).

On-ramp / Off-ramp

POL (Protocol-Owned Liquidity)

Liquidity the protocol itself owns to maintain baseline AMM market depth.

RWA (Real-World Asset)

A physical or off-chain asset tokenised on-chain. Minestarters vaults hold mining equity as RWAs via the Bermuda SAC.

SAC (Segregated Accounts Company)

Bermuda structure with ring-fenced accounts per vault, protecting investors from cross-vault risk.

Smart Contract

Self-executing blockchain code that enforces agreement terms automatically.

SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle)

A legal entity for a specific purpose. Each vault’s segregated account functions as an SPV.

Stablecoin

A cryptocurrency pegged to a stable asset (typically USD). USDC is primary on Minestarters.

Testnet

A blockchain test environment mirroring mainnet without real assets.

Token

A digital asset on blockchain representing ownership, utility, or value.

TVL (Total Value Locked)

Total value of assets in a protocol’s smart contracts.

USDC

USD Coin. A regulated stablecoin pegged 1:1 to USD. Primary vault subscription currency.

Wallet

Software or hardware storing private keys for blockchain interaction.
